Business analytics has come a long way. For a few lucky companies, it has become a core source of value creation and differentiation. In many others, however, it still struggles to deliver impact. The reasons for that are many: technical, cultural and organisational barriers are the usual suspects. But talent – in the form of the people who make business analytics a reality – also plays a big part. Future business analytics professionals often focus on developing jazzy but ineffective abilities, falling into pitfalls that prevent them from becoming more relevant – or more strategic – to their companies. In this seminar, we will explore some of those pitfalls and discuss how to try and neutralise them.

Through active engagements with clients, Luis uses his expertise to look at existing problems in novel ways and come up with creative solutions, finding the most transformative answers to the biggest questions. Over in-depth conversations with key players and influencers, Luis explores the key topics that matter, from how digital data can be used to solve critical business challenges to its broader role and impact on our society. Prior to Niometrics, Luis was Innovation Director at Cash Credit, a fintech lender, managing cross-functional projects to build new analytical and digital capabilities. Earlier, Luis was with Delta Partners developing its Analytics-Based Management practice. He has also had stints Telefonica and Net Servicos (now Claro, part of the Telmex Group). Luis has an MBA with distinction from London Business School, and a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Engineering from Escola Politecnica, Universidade de Sao Paulo.
